Keep Calm & Wait on the Lord

Most of the time waiting can be very exhausting. We want things to happen in our lives, around us and they don’t seem to happen in the quickest way possible. We want everything to happen instantly. But we have to see beyond this waiting season in our lives. It is written, “ To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) We are always in a hurry and God is not.

Come to think of it, Noah waited for 120 years for the flood. Abraham waited for his promised child Isaac for 25 years before he was born. Joseph spent 13 years in Potiphar’s house and prison before becoming the Prime Minister of Egypt. It took 40 years for the Israelites to reach the Promised Land. These are just a few examples.

So let us not wallow in the valley of despair while waiting, for we are not waiting in vain. If God is making us wait, there must be a valid reason. He knows us far better than we know ourselves. We can take this waiting season as a preparation season. God must be preparing us for the things that we are praying for. Our God is a God of Perfect Timing, never late, never early, but always on time. Let us then keep calm and wait on the Lord and expect to receive more than what we ask for.

“For the Lord is good to those who wait on Him, to the soul who seeks Him.” ~Lamentations 3:25~
