Today I will be sharing with you an excerpt from Pastor Mark Finley’s sermon on “ Guarding Your Thoughts”:
The average person has approximately 48 thoughts a minute. That computes to 70,000 thoughts a day or 25 million five hundred thoughts a year, can you believe that? The brain is about 3 pounds of rubbery gray substance that is lodged in a person’s cranium. The brain has 100 billion brain cells which are longest living cells in the body. Brain cells typically last an entire life time. For example, neurons in the cerebral cortex are not replaced when they die. Now the thoughts in the brain are powered. They are powered by neurotransmitters. These neurotransmitters are substances that transmit nerve impulses across the gap between neurons. These neurotransmitters are then powered by copious quantities of blood. And they develop pathways in the brain based on our thinking process. Like water which forms a river by running through the same path, our thoughts create a reality by going down the same frequency in the brain over and over again. Our thoughts carry electrical impulses and every time we are thinking of something repeatedly it creates a pathway in our brains penetrating all time and space. Our thoughts are very powerful. They are the most potent form of energy. The brain is this miracle organ that God has given us and the power of thought is incredible. And so we have to be aware of our thoughts for they are powerful cosmic waves in the sea of universal energy where we live in.
Watch your thoughts for they become words. Watch your words for they become actions. Watch your actions for they become habits. Watch your habits for they become your character. And watch your character for they become your destiny. What we think, we become.
Now let me share with you more thoughts to ponder:
“Change your thoughts and you change your world.” ~ Norman Vincent Peale
“It takes but one positive thought when given a chance to survive and to thrive to overpower an entire army of negative thoughts.” ~ Robert H. Schuller ~
“Our beliefs create the kind of world we believe in. We project our feelings, thoughts and attitudes onto the world. I can create a different world by changing my belief about the world. Our inner state creates the outer and not vice versa.” ~ John Bradshaw ~
“Great thoughts and a pure heart, that is what we should ask from God.” ~John Wolfgang Van Goethe~
