Perception. People assume that perception is somewhat an idle process. For me this assumption is incorrect.
“People tend to think of perception as a passive process. We see, hear, smell, taste or feel stimuli that impinge upon our senses. We think that if we are at all objective, we record what is actually there. Yet perception is demonstrably an active rather than a passive process; it constructs rather than records “reality.” You construct how you choose to see the world.” – Michael Michalko, author of Thinkertoys, ThinkPak & Cracking Creativity.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder as well as ugliness and all the negativities in the world. Our perception depends upon our own assumptions, our own thinking, our own mentality. We choose the way how we see people, things and situations. Everything is up to us. We build our own reality.
So it is very important to choose the way we think. The way we think can either bring us down or bring us up. It can make us feel positive or negative. Reminds me of the “Good Vibes Only” meme. It does make sense.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things. The things you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” – Philippians 4:6-9 NKJV
