“Righteousness will go before Him, and shall make His footsteps our pathway.” – verse from the Book of Psalm 85:13. Now, how reassuring is that? Very reassuring. Let us stop and think about this verse for a moment. God is telling us that if we submit to God, if we obey His commandments, if we worship and trust Him, He will go ahead of us. He will make a way for us. That is what He just said in the verse, didn’t He? We simply follow in His footsteps.

I do not know about you, but I have come to realize that God’s footsteps are much larger than mine. And I have come to recognize that God is much smarter and wiser than I am. And that He has a special plan for me and so He is watching out for me. I have come to know and believe that God’s got my back all the time, for always.

Each and every day as I wake up in the morning and as I go through the day, I keep reminding myself that He is going before me. I believe this because I always seek Him first thing in the morning. And when you seek God, He will be found by you, and will stay with you and will take care of you. All we need to do is simply believe and follow in His footsteps.

And so it is not our footsteps, it is His. We do not go our own way but we go where God leads.
