Believe

Every single one of us have choices to make every day. Will I live by the promises? Will I live clinging to God’s goodness and God’s mercy? Will I let what’s going on around me wither me up and make me a small whining person? Or will I soar above that by the faith of God and praising His name understanding that believers are not exempt from trials and difficulties?

It’s so easy to forget what God has done for us. To forget His blessings and so easy to have a complaining attitude under trial. It’s so easy to focus on today’s problems rather than yesterday’s providences. It is so easy to let worry, fear, and anxiety to overwhelm us rather than live in calm faith.

Faith trusts God when trust seems illogical. Faith is not sight and sight is not faith. Faith is believing. Faith is trusting. Faith is clinging to the promises of God even when you cannot see the end results yet. I do not understand fully the plan of salvation and how God is going to save a sinner like me, but I believe. I believe that God is a mighty God and He has His own ways of doing and accomplishing things. I also do not fully comprehend how Jesus is able to save me by His grace and transform me into His likeness, but I believe that He can do it because He said so.

When guilt fills your heart not only because of what you’ve done but also because of what you have not done, for all the things you have neglected in your life, and when you see yourself standing before God and trembling and saying, “How can I ever be saved? Will I still be saved?” You can still believe. Believe that He is your Saviour. Believe that you are redeemed by His grace. Believe that you are justified by His blood. When you ask, “God how are you going to prepare me for the second coming of Christ? I have so many deficiencies in my life. You may only see yourself and your own way of thinking. But His thoughts are not your thoughts and His ways are not your ways. All you have to do is believe in His grace and His power because He is mighty to save.

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God believe also in me.” ~ John 14:1
